Flooring and countertops in Carencro, LA

New construction north of Lafayette mixed with updates to older homes. We work on both.

A growing community north of Lafayette

Carencro has grown a lot in recent years, particularly in the new residential developments off I-49. We work with both Carencro homeowners updating older properties and builders putting up new construction. The mix is part of what keeps the work interesting. We might be helping a homeowner pick replacement flooring for a 1970s ranch one week, then turning around the next week to spec finishes for a fresh whole-home install in a new subdivision.

From our Breaux Bridge showroom to Carencro it is about a 25 minute drive up I-49. Carencro homeowners often combine a trip to the showroom with errands in Lafayette, which makes the timing easier.

What new and existing homes call for

Newer Carencro builds usually call for waterproof luxury vinyl in living and bedroom areas, large format porcelain in kitchens and baths, and quartz countertops sized for open-plan kitchens. The aesthetic leans modern but practical. Builders here are competing on price as well as quality, and the spec sheets reflect that mix.

Older homes around the Carencro core often involve removing original tile or carpet and reflooring to something more durable and modern looking. We have done a number of flip-and-update projects for owners who bought an older house, want to bring it up to a current aesthetic, and need flooring that survives kids, pets, and another decade of living. We work directly with several Carencro builders, which gives us a sense of which products fit local price points and which builders care about quality over speed. Either way, we focus on the same thing. Materials that perform and installations that hold up.

Carencro sits in the middle of the north Lafayette growth corridor, which has filled in dramatically as buyers priced out of newer south-side markets look further from the Lafayette core. The result is a market split between older established neighborhoods around the original town center and newer subdivisions on the outskirts. Older Carencro homes often have settled subfloor issues, dated kitchens, and bathrooms that have not been touched since the eighties. Those are interesting projects because the bones are usually good and the upgrades make a real visible difference. New Carencro builds are the opposite challenge. Builders are working from current plans, finishes are spec'd off allowance sheets, and the conversation centers on which materials maximize a fixed budget rather than what to keep and what to replace. We move comfortably between both worlds. A morning quoting a 1976 ranch remodel followed by an afternoon spec meeting on a new build in a fresh subdivision is a normal day for us in Carencro. The pace of new building here has been measured rather than frantic, and that suits how we run our part of the work.

How we work with Carencro clients

Most homeowners come in for a showroom visit to compare materials before we measure and quote. For new construction, we can coordinate directly with the builder's schedule rather than booking individual showroom visits with every buyer. Typical timelines from order to install run three to five weeks for stand-alone remodels, longer when the work is sequenced into a larger build.

Carencro tends to be a price-conscious market without being a cheap one. Clients here want value, which means quality at a fair price rather than the cheapest version of everything. That fits with how we run the showroom.
